The WoodWrite,Ltd. Model 363 is the only mini-lathe available
with a motorized saddle drive and stop switches on the head and tail stock.
Simply secure the wood to be turned, set your depth of cut with the micrometer dial,
accurate to a thousandth of an inch, and flip the drive switch. The motorized
variable speed saddle moves
along the lathe bed, making the depth of cut selected. When it completes the cut it
touches the limit switch and turns off. You then select your next depth of cut, push the
toggle in the opposite direction and the saddle will begin again, stopping when it reaches
the other limit switch. The mechanism works so smoothly that tool marks are a thing of the
past. When you are finished cutting, simply use a little 400 grit abrasive cloth to obtain
an incredibly smooth finish. Yes, you can turn metal too, ask us how.
