Mandrels
All WoodWrite, Ltd. mandrels are specifically engineered to
be used with WoodWrite, Ltd.. lathes. They are
used to mount the wood blanks on the lathe and are secured into the
headstock with a 1/4" collet -far more accurate and flexible than a Morse
taper, and are machined
with a precise gage point on the mandrel which enables you to calibrate the
micrometer dial and cutting tool without measuring. Note: mandrels are included
with Production Systems and Start-Up Kits.

Sanding Bushings
Sanding bushings are used with 7mm mandrels and are the exact size of the
completed wood blanks. Made of hardened steel, you must be careful not to hit
them with your chisel or sanding cloth, as you will alter the final diameter.
(Bushings may be substituted for mandrels in start-up kits upon request.). Note:
if using a WoodWrite, Ltd. lathe, always use a mandrel instead of sanding
bushings.
