BLOODWOOD (Kajat, Kiaat, Muninga, Mtumbati, Mukwa, Mutete)
From Africa; Tanzania, Angola, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and
Zaire.
Color is fairly uniform dark red-orange. The grain is close, and straight to
interlocked and varies from medium to coarse in texture.
Common uses include boat building, decorative veneer, fine furniture, medicinal use,
canoes, excelsior and parquet flooring and fine turnings.
Specific Gravity is .61(dense). Turns extremely well.
