Although you can easily add a tool rest (KT-11) to your lathe to turn free hand, all you need to be able to do is read a number and turn a dial for consistent and accurate professional quality results every time.  You can even produce curved pens with our Copy-Cat duplicator!

Engineering research brings you a break-through in mini-lathes, the all new WoodWrite,Ltd. Model 363 - the only mini-lathe available with a variable speed motorized saddle drive and stop switches on the head and tail stock. Simply secure the wood to be turned, set your depth of cut with the micrometer dial, accurate to a thousandth of an inch, and flip the drive switch. The motorized saddle moves along the lathe bed, making the depth of cut selected. When it completes the cut it touches the limit switch and turns off. You then select your next depth of cut, push the toggle in the opposite direction and the saddle will begin again, stopping when it reaches the other limit switch. The mechanism works so smoothly that tool marks are a thing of the past. When you are finished cutting, simply use a little 400 grit abrasive cloth to obtain an incredibly smooth finish. Custom Lathes

WoodWrite,Ltd. lathes may be lengthened up to 48" between centers, and the swing over the saddle may be increased to 4.125". We are also pleased to be able to offer custom mini-lathes that employ adaptive technology for our customers with limited physical mobility.
